Field Experience
Greencastle-Antrim Volleyball Coach
I am currently the GA Middle School 8th Grade girl's Volleyball coach. Using many of my teaching philosophies on the court as well, I find coaching to be a very rewarding experience as the student athlete's strive for success inside and outside of the classroom.
Throughout my experience at Penn State, I was involved in many different activities created to build my knowledge of Physical Education possibilities as well as expanding my personal "tool box."
PSAHPERD Conference 2011
At the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (APHPERD) Conference in November, I was fortunate enough to be presented with the opportunity to represent The Pennsylvania State University at our Penn State session entitled, "Be a Buddy, Not A Bully." We presented games and activities that can be used to incorporate teamwork and group cohesion. Our presentation was also focused on completing these activities with little to no equipment. The activities used equipment that can be found in virtually any gymnasium or purchased on any physical education budget.

Penn State Dance Marathon 2012
In February 2012, I was fortunate enough to be able to dance in THON, standing 46 hours straight without sleep in order to simulate the struggle of children who are battling cancer. This experience was amazing and eye-opening to me. I was able to interact with the pediatric cancer patients, as well as their families and friends. This was the best weekend of my life and was a absolutely life altering experience.
